Born in 1564, dying in 1616, William Shakespeare (from what i have gathered via resources above) was and remains a one if not the most prodigious playwrights in history composing a litany of legendary works, the man nearly a larger then life pillar of the English language suffering from what all such paragons do: rumors and wild speculation. Whether it be ranging from his sexual preferences/relationships or the authentic authorship of his own works, indeed Shakespeare has become a mythical entity within the Pantheon of English literature/storytelling. A villain to many students the word "Shakespeare" now synonymous to most pupils as byzantine, prolix, verbose (did i mention redundant?) old, quite simply very old. Though i neither love nor loathe Shakespeare and appreciate his works impact, I struggle just as many do with the dated vernacular. Reading more, with a group of friends for fun re-imaginings (maybe remixed renderings?) seem to me the only means to end my struggling, safe to say Shakespeare/his works aren't getting any younger.
